Prescribing Standards & Clinical Policies

Effective Date: February 25, 2026

Amazing Meds is committed to safe, ethical, and evidence-based prescribing practices. This page outlines our clinical standards, prescribing policies, and the safeguards we have in place to protect patient safety.

Our Clinical Team

All Amazing Meds providers are:

  • Licensed physicians (MD/DO) or advanced practice providers (NP/PA) with prescriptive authority

  • Credentialed with major insurance networks including BCBS, Aetna, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, and Tricare

  • Board-certified or board-eligible in their respective specialties

  • Licensed in the states where they provide care

  • Subject to ongoing credentialing verification through CAQH

Our Medical Director oversees all clinical protocols, treatment guidelines, and prescribing practices.

How We Prescribe

Step 1: Clinical Evaluation Every patient undergoes a comprehensive medical evaluation before any prescription is considered. This includes a detailed medical history review, current symptom assessment, review of current medications and allergies, and discussion of treatment goals and expectations.

Step 2: Diagnostic Testing We require appropriate laboratory testing before prescribing hormone therapy, peptide therapy, or weight management medications. Lab work is ordered based on the specific treatment being considered and is reviewed by your provider before any prescription is issued.

Step 3: Provider Decision The decision to prescribe is made solely by the licensed healthcare provider based on clinical judgment, diagnostic results, medical history, and established clinical guidelines. A consultation does not guarantee a prescription.

Step 4: Ongoing Monitoring Patients on treatment are required to complete follow-up laboratory testing at intervals determined by their provider. Ongoing monitoring ensures treatment safety and effectiveness. Refills may be contingent upon completing required lab work.

What We Prescribe

Amazing Meds specializes in:

  • Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT): For men with clinically diagnosed hypogonadism (low testosterone), confirmed by laboratory testing and clinical evaluation

  • Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT): For women experiencing symptoms of perimenopause, menopause, or hormonal imbalance, including bioidentical estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone

  • Peptide Therapy: Prescribed as part of medically supervised wellness protocols, with ongoing provider oversight

  • Weight Management: Medically supervised programs including FDA-approved and compounded medications, with required metabolic monitoring

  • Sexual Health: Treatments for erectile dysfunction and female sexual dysfunction

  • Hair Loss: Prescription treatments for male and female pattern hair loss

  • Thyroid Optimization: For patients with documented thyroid dysfunction

What We Do NOT Prescribe

  • Controlled substances for anti-aging, cosmetic, athletic performance, or bodybuilding purposes without documented medical necessity

  • Medications to patients who have not completed a clinical evaluation and required diagnostic testing

  • Medications to patients physically located in states where we are not licensed

  • Medications that are not clinically indicated based on the patient’s medical history, symptoms, and lab results

  • Any medication without the clinical judgment and approval of a licensed provider

Pharmacy Partners

Prescriptions are filled by:

  • Compounding Pharmacies: Licensed 503A compounding pharmacies registered with the FDA, operating under applicable state and federal law. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved and are prepared at the direction of the prescribing provider for individual patients.

  • Retail Pharmacies: National retail pharmacies (CVS, Walgreens, and others) for commercially available medications

Amazing Meds does not compound or dispense medications. We are a telehealth medical provider, not a pharmacy.
