A more personalized approach

Testosterone is part of women's hormone health, too

Testosterone is a normal part of women's hormone health, yet it's often overlooked in standard care. Many clinics offer only a low-dose cream, sometimes without labs. We test first, set your dose from your results, and recheck over time.

Cream

Easy to use every day. A good option for many women.

Injection

Usually the most effective option. We're one of the few clinics offering it to women.

Your provider helps you choose based on your labs and preferences.

Your questions, answered

What to know about testosterone therapy for women

Is the free call with a doctor?

No. It's a short phone call with our care team. We learn what's going on, check your insurance and answer your questions. If you move forward, you'll do labs, then a visit with your provider.

Can I keep my current HRT?

Yes. Many of our patients keep their estrogen and progesterone with their own doctor and add testosterone with us.

Is the medication covered by insurance?

Most plans don't cover compounded hormones, so medication is self-pay. Provider visits and labs are billed to your insurance if we're in network. You'll see exact pricing before you order anything.

Cream or injection: what's the difference?

Cream is easy to use every day. Injections are usually the most effective option, and we're one of the few clinics offering them to women. Your provider helps you choose.

Will testosterone cause hair loss or too much hair growth?

Your dose is set from your labs and rechecked over time, so your provider can adjust it if anything changes. Bring any concerns to your visit.

Do I need to be in menopause?

No, you don’t. Symptoms can occur before menopause, and selected women may be candidates for treatment. your provider will consider your symptoms, medical history, and other possible causes before recommending testosterone.

Can I use labs I already have?

Yes, if they're from the last 6 months and include what your provider needs. Send them in and we'll tell you if anything's missing.

Will a blood test tell me if I need it?

Labs show your starting point and help your provider monitor treatment so testosterone doesn’t rise above the normal female range. The decision is made together, based on your symptoms and history, rather than a lab number alone.

How long until I notice anything?

Some women notice improvements around four weeks, while others need six to eight weeks or longer. Results vary and aren’t guaranteed. Your provider will check your progress and adjust your care when needed. We have seen results occur as soon as 1 week.

I’m on testosterone from another clinic. Can I switch?

Yes, you can request to transfer your care. Have your recent labs and current prescription details available. Your provider will review them and may request updated labs before recommending a treatment plan.

Does booking mean I’ll get a prescription?

No. The free consultation is a first conversation with our care team. A licensed provider determines whether testosterone is appropriate after reviewing your medical history, symptoms, and labs.

If women naturally produce testosterone, why isn’t there an FDA-approved option for us?

It’s a fair question, and one we share. Women naturally produce testosterone, yet there still isn’t an FDA-approved testosterone product specifically for women. We believe women deserve an approved option. At Amazing Meds, we’ve helped thousands of women through testosterone therapy. Providers may prescribe it off-label when appropriate, with individualized care and ongoing monitoring.
